BUSINESS MEETING PROPER PRESIDENT’S REPORT: 1. Emerging programs in the field of Agriculture 2. Framework for 5th & 6th year in TVI’s with Dr. Dela Pena, Jr. presiding

Nestor Ledesma and Dr. Silvano Maranga 3.2 Vacancy in the Board 3.3 Update on Scholarship of Chinese Students 3.4 The President informed the members that as per Tesda Order dated Jan. 2012, he officially sits at the RTESDC to represent DAVRASTI -XI 4. Adjournment | The President called the meeting to order at 10:00 am, Jan. 18, 2012 1.DAVRASTI - XI President, Dr. Dela Pena presented the ACES Natural Farming course, its relevance, opportunities and benefit to the community Dr. Silvano Maranga, TESDA Dir, (Ret.) gave further inputs on the course and invited the group to visit the demo farm which serves as the venue of the TESDA registered program ACES Natural Farming Technology Course level -1 The President showed on powerpoint presentation some statistical data from DEPED. The figures gave insights on the lack of qualified trainors , assessors and assessment centers in the region for the incoming 5th & 6th year enrollees. The Board agreed to Register, organize and manage the conduct of a Trainors Training for all its member schools at reasonable cost . The President also recommended that secondary schools that are not yet equipped to handle Tesda Programs must ink a MOA with qualified TVI’s The President recommended that Atty. Nestor Ledesma be the Legal Adviser and Dr. Silvano Maranga be the Coordinator/Consultant of DAVRASTI-XI in order for the association to achieve its objectives. Atty. Ledesma and Dr. Maranga accepted the offer. DAVRASTI XI is composed of 3 representatives which come from the 5 provinces of Davao Region or a total of 15 Board Members. The President recom- mended that at anytime there is vacancy in the Board, the Immediate Past Presidents of Provincial Associations may be installed to be member of the Board thru a Board Resolution. - The President informed the body that the Aces and its partner I-STUDY are still working on some requirements in order for the funds to be accepted by Philippine banks since this is a multi million foreign investment project. Forum issues: - costly Trainors Training - Policy on: NO Pirating of Trainors - Conduct of Assessment by TESDA centers - Issuance of Certificates for Trainors and Assessors - Registration of courses vis-à-vis community based programs and school based programs - One TVI representative from - PTESDC quarterly conferences / meetings The meeting was adjourned at 4:22p.m. | 8 members of the board were present, however two of these: Dr. Saludes and Ms. Myrtel Solatorio were represented by their school officials. There was no representative from COMVAL. - DAVRASTI -XI members accepted the invitation of Association of Concerned Entrepreneurs For Food Security (ACES) to jointly advocate for Natural and Organic Farming Technology - the group agreed to visit the learning demo farm of the ACES Natural Farming Institute. Group visited the vermiculture, Vermi Tea Aerator, and organic hog and chicken raising cages learning areas, viewed the Cable way- a practical transport in a farm using gravity and appropriate technology and other farm facilities. Approved by the body, thus Board Resolution No. 12 , s. 2012 Approved by the body thus Board Resolution No. 13, s. 2012 Approved by the body thus Board Resolution No. 14, s. 2012 Updates will be presented in future meetings - The body approved that the following issues will be raised by Dr. Francisco Dela Pena ,Jr. to the RTESDC and during the COCOPEA plenary come Feb. 10, 2012 |
